{"id":7026,"date":"2016-01-21T11:32:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-21T16:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.richimages.net\/?p=7026"},"modified":"2017-06-20T14:36:08","modified_gmt":"2017-06-20T20:36:08","slug":"traditional-computer-only-realted-tasks-are-migrating-to-tabletssmartphones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/richimages.net\/?p=7026","title":{"rendered":"Traditional Computer-Only Realted Tasks are Migrating to Tablets\/Smartphones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a proud owner of one of the latest iPad Pros &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And,<\/p>\n<p>Being caught up up in tracking the latest news articles related to this fantastic device &#8211; (especially in the wake of critical articles related to Tim Cooks&#8217;s promotional statement describing\u00a0the iPad Pro as a laptop replacement\u00a0for many, many people) &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve stepped back to simply survey how times are changing in the way we are using computers. \u00a0<!--more-->Specifically, I&#8217;ve started thinking about how traditional <em>computer-only related tasks<\/em> are being replaced by smartphones or tablets. \u00a0I picked up my iPhone, and noted the apps I used regularly. \u00a0\u00a0What follows is a list of tasks I perform using my phone, or tablet as opposed to a computer:<\/p>\n<p>Checking weather, checking my bank balance, tracking online orders to know when they will be delivered to my doorstep &#8211; even making online orders! \u00a0I exclusively use my phone during travel for holding my boarding pass and getting notifications about Airline gate changes. \u00a0I pay attention to local news notifications &#8211; especially when related to interstate traffic for the trip to\/from work &#8211; (it seems that barges have hit the Mississippi River bridge a lot lately, as well as 18 wheeler petroleum spills). \u00a0I use my phone to pay bills, navigate to new locations, whether home or when traveling out of state. \u00a0I use my iPad for reading of all types or materials &#8211; Bible reading, recreational reading, academic or work-related study. \u00a0I use my phone\/tablet for organizing documents in EverNote and Drop Box &#8211; even blogging (this article is being written in the WordPress app running on iPad Pro &#8211; typed using a Bluetooth keyboard!) \u00a0I take pictures and share to social media &#8211; as I&#8217;m sure everyone with a FaceBook account does; but, just think about how that&#8217;s something that has changed with the coming of the smartphone &#8211; people used to do this only on a computer at home! \u00a0This list is being thrown together rather quickly &#8211; there are probably tons of more tasks that could be inserted here.<\/p>\n<p>One last thing I&#8217;ll add to this list &#8211; art, and handwriting. \u00a0The Apple Pencil is an incredible\u00a0<em>game-changer<\/em> of a stylus.
